Capsule Geology

The NMP occurrence is located on the east flank of Mount Hankin, west of China Creek.

The area is underlain by dioritic rocks of the Lower Jurassic Island Plutonic Suite which are in contact with voclanic rocks of the Upper Triassic Karmutsen Formation (Vancouver Group).

Locallly, minor chalcopyrite occurs along the contact zone of diorite and altered volcanic rocks.

In the mid 1960’s, the area was explored by Gunnex Limited.
